Conrad was a founding member of the
Alamo Area Crime Prevention Association. Originally from
California, Conrad settled in Fredericksburg after a four-year stint
in the United States Air Force. After separating from the military,
he began his career with the Fredericksburg Police Department.
Rising to the rank of Sergeant, he served the citizens of
Fredericksburg and Gillespie County for more than 40 years as a
Crime Prevention Sergeant with the Fredericksburg PD and upon
retiring, as a Crime Prevention Deputy Sheriff with Gillespie
County. Prior to his passing, Conrad was awarded a plaque from the
AACPA for his dedicated service to crime prevention and his
community. He is survived by his wife, Carleen.
